Blog

The Strathmore Law Review blogs are a strategic complement to our traditional print publications. The blogs are meant to encourage legal debate in Africa that can reach a wider audience expeditiously and have people on the continent thinking critically of these issues. As a result, the editing process for the blogs is dissimilar than that of traditional print publication as a timely response ensures the issues are able to have a platform to be discussed faster.

If you are interested in publishing a blog, please contact us via email at lawreview@strathmore.edu and include either a full draft or a description of your potential post.

The Strathmore Law Review (SLR) is pleased to welcome submissions for its Blog to be published in the 2025-2026 academic year under the theme ‘The Progression of The Law Towards an Equitable African Society’. The SLR invites submissions focusing on the African context, either as a continent or any part of African society that is at the national level or subnational level. The invited submissions may focus on any broad range of issues in any field of law or law-related interdisciplinary academic scholarship.

The article should be 2500 words max and must follow Strathmore Law Simplified Legal Citation (SLASLEC) (available here). Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. The Call for submissions closes at 11.59 PM (EAT) on Sunday, 31st May 2026.

All submissions should be emailed to lawreview@strathmore.edu

Article Briefs

The Strathmore Law Review Article Briefs are concise summaries of scholarly works published in our journal, breaking down the core arguments and significance of each paper. More than a reading aid, these briefs serve as a platform for amplifying African legal scholarship, making rigorous academic work visible beyond traditional academic circles.

By spotlighting the contributions of published authors, the briefs inspire emerging researchers and student writers to pursue, develop, and submit their own ideas, fostering a culture of legal inquiry that keeps African voices and perspectives at the centre of legal discourse.
